    The Nefarious List Post:
    • I'm tired of being a gypsy.
    • iTunes is finally working again. Yay!
    • If I had to pay $5,000 to get rid of cat allergies, I would.
    • For some odd reason, I feel like listening to Loretta Lynn.
    • I will never take high speed internet for granted again.
    • I read Howl's Moving Castle, and I can honestly say I liked the movie just as well, though they're different.
    • Homemade applesauce rules.

  • Almost done! My house is practically empty, and I'm heading to the post office for an address change. Two late nights this weekend, but we've pretty much pulled it off.

    Cheerio!

P.S. I'll be on duh-duh-duh-dial-up for like the next month. Shudder.

  • We sold our trailer! Yay! Now we have about five days (ten tops, but I'm shooting for five) to get everything packed and moved. Whew. Then, we can pay off our car. Yay, again!

It's gotten cold here. Today is in the low forties, but it feels more like the mid thirties. I should probably bake something to keep myself from freezing. I also wish I had some Endpaper Mitts. Aynone feel like knitting me some?

  • I want to blog, but I have nothing to blog about. Well, maybe I do, but it'll just take a few minutes to think of it.

Brian brought home Halo 3 the other day. I never played the other two, except with my two brothers, who would either run through the co-op mode so fast that I didn't actually do anything, or they would completely and utterly submit me to their pwnage in multi-player. However, Halo 3 is proving to be a more funner (Jolene, it's there on purpose ;) experience, even though Brian stole a little of my joy by beating it on Heroic while I'm still struggling through normal and have just figured out that: a. those little helicopter thingies (correction: Hornets, courtesy of halowiki.net) have rockets, and b. that you can hurt things a lot by whacking them with your gun, etc.

Speaking of gaming experience, I have one little bone to pick with Sims 2. I love the whole aspiration aspect of the game, but Lifetime Wants... hrmmm grrraaarowl. I hate that 80% of my sims want to be teachers, cops, or have 6 grandchildren. The reason I'm really irritated is that I have a sim who is great at cooking, and the only way to get "Become Celebrity Chef" as a lifetime want is to give that sim either a pleasure aspiration or a popularity aspiration, and even then it's only by a stroke of luck that she'll actually get that particular lifetime want. I mean, I'm not really interested in "50 First Dates" as a lifetime want. Pfftt. Okay, done griping.

  • I am incredibly happy.

There isn't really any external reason why this day should be extra-joyful, but it is. My fingers wish they could play the guitar more betterer so I could write a song about it (silliness is underrated, don't you think ;)

I'm teaching VBS this week, and, as always, it is a joy, a trial, and a spiritual growth session all wrapped into one. This year's SGS appears to be the culmination of the last two years' lessons. Year One: You can teach a class by yourself without Mrs. Carlson holding your hand. Year Two: You can teach alongside someone other than Mrs. Carlson, even if that person has a very different teaching style than you. This Year: Even though you are not thrilled to be teaching again with that person, you will miss them when they're out sick.

God has a wry sense of humor.
